Upcoming TTC Cuts Must be Reversed

Starting from March 26, the service cuts approved in the 2023 city budget will be implemented by TTC. This will result in increased wait times for buses, streetcars, and subways, as well as more crowded rides.

Cutting service and increasing fares pushes riders off the TTC to other ways of getting around and can send our transit system into a downward spiral of future cuts. Our office has heard from many constituents who have shared their concerns regarding the upcoming service cuts. Join us in calling on the Government to reverse service cuts and build a better transit system by investing more funding into transit service and affordability by signing the petition linked below.

Sign our petition below to call on the government to reverse these cuts and build a better transit system!

Whereas, the service cuts approved in the 2023 City of Toronto budget will result in increased wait times for buses, streetcars, and subways, as well as more crowded rides

Whereas, many of the routes that will be affected by the service cuts are already experiencing delays, particularly in Scarborough where there are already problems with bus overcrowding and longer commute times to access rapid transit

Whereas, longer wait times and overcrowding present safety concerns, especially for individuals with strollers and/or mobility devices

Whereas, cutting services and increasing fares pushes riders off the TTC to other ways of getting around and can lead to further cuts in our transit system

THEREFORE WE THE UNDERSIGNED petition the Legislative Assembly of Ontario to immediately reverse service cuts and build a better transit system by investing more funding into transit service and affordability, to win back riders and support essential workers.
